The capital of State of Falcon is visited during all the year by locals and foreigners. There are houses whose structure has been preserved thanks to the government intervention and function as museums. The house of ¨The 100 Windows¨, ¨Arcaya´s House¨, for example, along with the Cathedral of Coro, are all worthy of visiting.
Tourists can appreciate the construction methods in mud, bahareque, adobe, and mud wall, combined with vestiges of Mohammedan style, elements of the native and Spanish construction. Also observe an influence of Netherlands architecture that came from Aruba and Curacao. A clear example which can be appreciates in the Port of La Vela.
Particular facts
In City of Coro are found most of religious buildings of the country. Its Cathedral saw the first bishop in South America and, according to the Cultural Institute; it is a building ¨that bring together all the churches of the provincial Spanish Venezuela ¨.
Other churches of same importance are San Nicolás, San Gabriel and San Clemente; the San Francisco Church and Convent, one of the three Convents completely conserved the country.
It is to note that the Church of San Clemente (1538) still conserves in its right lateral wall the marble plaque, with a commemorative inscription of the decision of the UNESCO, to declare the City of Coro and the Port of La Vela, Cultural Patrimony of Mankind.
For those that visit these places, to one side of the Church of San Francisco is the Diocese Museum of Coro, building which gathers an impressive sample of religious art elaborated in gold and silver.
Among the numerous pieces of value that are keep with fervor by the Diocese Museum, one must mention a statue of San Pedro, which is eight centuries old and accompanied with beautiful native relics for the rejoice of national and tourists.
Other place to find information about the history and traditions of the State is the House of the Treasure, located on the Zamora Street. The building constructed by Andrés Talavera in 1770, correspond to the typical structure of the pavilion with entrance hall and third rooms.
The House of the Iron Windows (1765) shows great iron window enclosures imported from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, when iron was a luxury material and our country only produced wood. Arcaya´s Balcony is actually the Ceramic and Popular Porcelain Museum, founded by the archeologist J.M. Cruxen.
Other spaces in the tour of Coro are, the Sun House, on Federation street, Bolívar´s Balcony, on the Talavera Walkway with Hernández Street; the Manaure Square, between Zamora and Falcon Streets, the Jewish Cemetery, on the Zamora street, constructed in 1832 by Joseph Curiel.

Coro Sand Dunes. - The extension of sand of a tan color, appear magnificent in the highway, offering to the visitors an indescribable visual experience. The persons become small in the presence, Los Medanos National Park having an extension approximately of 90 hectares, the majesty of these sand dunes; a desert landscape declared National Park in 1947.
